Early Life and Passion for Wildlife
Born on July 10, 1982, in the picturesque village of Badalpar near the Karmajhiri Gate of Pench National Park, Mr. Rafique Sheikh’s connection to nature began at an early age. Growing up surrounded by the rich biodiversity of Central India, he developed a deep passion for wildlife and conservation. This early bond with nature laid the foundation for what would become a lifelong dedication to the hospitality and eco-tourism industry.
Education and Professional Journey
Mr. Sheikh pursued his Bachelor of Arts degree from Rani Durgavati University in Jabalpur, India, in 2005. His career in hospitality began soon after, and over the next two decades, he honed his skills in some of India’s most prestigious luxury resorts and camps.

– Key Responsibilities: Managing guest services, overseeing check-ins/check-outs, ensuring operational efficiency.
– Baghvan Taj Group of Hotels, Luxury Resort, Pench National Park (2006 – 2014)
– Role: Household Butler
– Key Responsibilities: Managing bar operations, handling guest billing, training staff, and maintaining inventory.
– Jamtara Wilderness Camp, Luxury Camp, Pench National Park (2014 – 2023)
– Role: Camp Host
– Key Responsibilities: Leading a team of 25 in providing exceptional guest services, housekeeping, maintenance, and food and beverage operations.
– Limban at Tadoba, Luxury Resort, Tadoba National Park (2023 – 2024)
– Role: Resort Manager
– Key Responsibilities: Maintaining lodgings, ordering supplies, ensuring high-quality hospitality services, and organizing events.
